Bowel dysfunction and mental health
Healthcare professionals (HCPs) agree that constipation and faecal incontinence affect patients' mental health'

What is high-volume TAI?
Some patients have symptoms or conditions that require high-volume transanal irrigation (TAI) to sufficiently irrigate more than the rectum only. Patients who have urge faecal incontinence or constipation can benefit from high-volume TAl.⁵ TAI is a well-established bowel-emptying technique for managing constipation and faecal incontinence. High volume-TAI uses between 300-1000 ml of water to irrigate the left colon {rectum, sigmoid and descending colon) depending on the volume of water. TAI enables patients to stay continent for up to two days.³

What is Peristeen Plus?
Peristeen Plus is a high-volume TAI system that is portable, compact, lightweight for optimal mobility, allowing users to do the procedure at home or on the go.
Peristeen Plus is⁴:

- Easy and quick to prepare for use
The system offers confidence and control through effective and predictable prevention of faecal incontinence and constipation.³

Peristeen Plus with cone catheter
The cone catheter is designed for people with special anatomical needs such as low anterior resection syndrome (LARS). Its design process had input from colorectal surgeons and nurses regarding shape, curvature, length and flexibility. It has dual holding positions where the user can choose between holding the cone by the finger grip or under the cone base. The design also means that patients have extra space for holding the catheter in place during irrigations.

Peristeen Plus works well because it empties my bowel. It takes away that discomfort I had before.
